KG DELTA MILAN EMERGES CHAMPION OF D-PETERSON UNDER 17 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

The greatest and most prestigious football tournament in Ika land has come to a thrilling end, with KG Delta Milan crowned as the champion of the D-Peterson Under-17 Football Trials/Tournament. The tournament, sponsored by the D-Peterson Foundation, delivered two weeks of electrifying entertainment and high-pitched tension, culminating in a celebratory finale that rewarded excellence across the board.
KG Delta Milan clinched the coveted gold medal and took home a grand cash prize of ₦500,000 alongside a giant trophy, solidifying their dominance on the pitch. Runners-up Star Peak FC were awarded ₦300,000 and a trophy for their outstanding efforts, while Golden Boys FC, who claimed third place, received ₦200,000 and a trophy.
In addition to team accolades, the tournament celebrated individual brilliance:
– Most Valuable Player (MVP): Chucky Marvelous of KG Delta Milan was named the tournament’s standout performer, earning a cash prize of ₦100,000.
– Highest Goal Scorer: Siweku Kelvin of KG Delta Milan claimed this honor with an impressive tally of four goals, taking home ₦50,000.
– Best Goalkeeper: Miracle Panam, also from KG Delta Milan, was recognized for his exceptional performances in goal and was awarded ₦50,000.
A major highlight of the tournament was the discovery of 30 promising young players by international scouts. These players are set to undergo further trials, with 22 of them advancing to top football academies in Abuja for comprehensive development and exposure.
Dr. Donald Peterson, the tournament’s sponsor and Special Adviser to the Delta State Government on Entrepreneurship Development, reaffirmed his commitment to nurturing young talent. “This football sponsorship will remain a continuous event where talents are connected to purpose. Football is now a big global business, and as a businessman and public servant, I am dedicated to investing in initiatives that foster community development, self-fulfillment, and actualization,” Dr. Peterson stated.
The grand finale was attended by notable dignitaries, including representatives of the Delta State Deputy Governor Hon. Victor Okoh, Delta State Commissioner for Power and Energy Hon. Sunny Tatabuzugwu, Chairman of Ika North East PDP Hon. Chuks Agboma, Chief Don Ndudi Aghulor, Mr. Ezedom, Emma Mormah, Chief Louis Usifoh (Akpara of Agbor Kingdom), Chief E. Ojiemudia (Ekpe of Agbor Kingdom), and legendary football icon Henry Nwosu (MON), former captain of Nigeria’s Green Eagles.
