Agbor, Delta State – May 16, 2025
It was another exciting day at the Techpreneurship programme as over 48 community youths showed up in full force to participate in Week 5 of the ongoing 3-month certificate programme sponsored by the D-Peterson Foundation in partnership with the University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL).
Coming right after the dedicated UNIDEL Students’ Day, the atmosphere today was electric — and rightly so. The young participants, drawn from various corners of the community, were not just present; they were eager, energised, and incredibly grateful.
Their smiles said it all. But in case you missed the vibe, their class Governor, Mr. Shadrack Egbonimali, made sure their appreciation was well delivered. On behalf of the community youths, he showered praises and heartfelt blessings on Dr. Donald Peterson, the man whose vision and generosity brought the programme to life. The name “D-Peterson” echoed through the room like a chant of hope and opportunity.
The Techpreneurship programme, which kicked off weeks ago, is already changing lives. With its three major tracks — Digital Marketing, Design School, and Data Analytics — it’s clear this isn’t just another seminar. It’s hands-on. It’s real. And best of all? It’s absolutely free for participants. Yes, zero cost. A dream come true in today’s economic climate.
And while Dr. Donald Peterson, the President and Founder of the D-Peterson Foundation, remains the central pillar of this initiative, one cannot overlook the unwavering support of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke. Her commitment has been instrumental in ensuring that everything runs smoothly and effectively. According to participants, her name is just as beloved in the classrooms as Dr. Peterson’s.
It’s worth recalling that Dr. Peterson is not just a philanthropist. He currently serves as Special Adviser to the Delta State Government on Entrepreneurship Development. So yes — he knows exactly what it takes to bridge the gap between dreams and skills, and he’s putting that knowledge to good use.
As Week 5 wraps up, one thing is crystal clear: this programme is more than just training. It’s a movement. A transformation. A win-win situation for every youth who dares to show up, plug in, and learn.
And guess what? The journey is just halfway. Watch this space. The best is yet to come.
